Try Ebay. Well, to tell you the truth, there are very few stores willing to buy old Pokemon cards nowadays, especially cards which come from the first sets produced - the newer cards are always in more demand. Add this to the fact that Pokemon does not have nearly the popularity that it once did, and I doubt you would find a place specifically in Houston that could buy your cards for a reasonable price.

I would highly suggest that you try ebay.com. You can reach many more people this way and could have more control over the selling process. That is, instead of just asking someone what he wants, you can set the starting prices, and you can choose to sell cards individually or in lots.As I said, Pokemon cards are not in high demand in regards to the general public, but there are a surprising amount of people on ebay still collecting them.

The reason I know this is that I have recently ebay for certain Pokemon cards purely based on nostalgia (Remember when the basic set Charizard was worth $50? I still have one.) and have actually bought cards off ebay from a similar game, the Star Wars CCG. If you really want to go to a local store to sell your cards, you can check out the website for the game’s manufacturer, Wizards of the Coast.

Their URL is www.wizards.com. The site allows you to search for stores that carry their products under the "Find a Store" link at the bottom of the page. The ones listed for Houston, TX include: Midnight Comics, Bedrock City Comic Co.

, Enigma’s Collectables, Heroes Collectibles, Nan’s Games & Comics Too, and Third Planet. You should check them out first. That’s my schtick.

As you can tell, I’m kind of a nerd. Good luck. Sources: my opinion .

1 If they're still in business, try Sports Collectibles of Houston.....can't give you an address or phone number, but they'd be in the Yellow Pages and probably in the white pages.
