Um, yes. A 23 year old is an adult. Heck, most 23 year old people I know are in graduate school and paying for their own apartment off campus.

I'm 16. I don't get an allowance. I do as I'm told, and I have a job.

I'm 18 and have my own work, so I barely ask for allowance. I really don't blame you its tough getting a job nowadays, however, do you have a degree? Try to find a job even if its part-time, so it'll help ease your parents burden.

Or if not, try to save your allowance, don't spend it into something stupid like eat out when you can eat at home, buy expensive clothes or lessen your driving if its not important (so you can save gas).
