1996 Saturn Rear Drum Brakes to Rear Disc Brakes?

As Roger said. I would like to add one caveat. If the brake parts were assembled properly, then the automatic brake adjusting mechanism should do the proper tightening for you by backing up and stepping on the brakes several times.

I have included a link, compliments of Auto Zone, that details how to do rear brakes.

Newer and many old cars has auto-adjustment for brakes. You just need to initially assemble the brakes correctly and de-adjust when you first assemble the new shoes carefully until the drum slide gently and the wheel rotate freely. The rest will be done as you drive the car.

The brakes will adjust automatically as they wear out a little at a time. Good luck...!
