Go out there and get as much customer service experience as you can get! Work at a local restaurant or hotel! This will not only look good on your CV, but it will really help you to be able to draw on those experiences up in the air when you are dealing with some really nasty passengers.
Most pax are lovely, friendly and polite... But you will always come across those who are arrogant, rude and downright obnoxious. You also need to work well in a team. Temping work through agencies is a good experience, as it shows you can quickly adapt and build rapport with strangers.
When you start flying you will quickly realise that you don't get to fly with the same crew twice. In some airlines you can be lucky to even know one of the crew members you will be working with from before the flight. Although some airlines will accept applicants as young as 18, I would strongly recommend to wait until you are 21.
Being a cabin crew is a very demanding job. You will be flying at random times, often going to work when others are going to bed. You might cross 18 timezones in three days, and you are almost always on your feet.
You need high school, A Levels or equivalent from an educational perspective. I have flown with crew who were trained as fitness instructors, lawyers, doctors, hairdressers etc... so there is no Righ & Wrong education. Stay away from Flight Attendant or Cabin Crew academies, or other institutions who proclaim to be able to teach you everything you need to know!
This is nothing short of a scam! Some low budget airlines might pick up a candidate or two from these places, but is working for a budget airline really something you aspire to? Thought not!
:o) Aim for the sky, literally! Check out all the major airlines in your country, and also those of the Middle East, as they hire candidates from all over the world. All major airlines have their own training programs.
I used to work for Emirates, and within a few years I became Flight Purser, and also a cabin crew trainer at the aviation college. (trolley-dolley-factory!) PM me if you have any more questions!
The best way to do this is to apply directly to the airlines you're interested in. All airlines have a career section on their websites, and generally this will tell you if positions are available and, if they are, the information on how to apply will also be on the website. You will need to be 18 years or over, and successfully completed High School before you apply.
Also helps if you have a First Aid Certificate.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
