Amazon. Com is deleting purchased copies of some books from customer's Kindles. Will that affect the sale of Kindles?

The New York Times has reported that Amazon. Com has remotely deleted copies of books such as (ironically) George Orwell's 1984 when the publishers have changed their minds about having ebook editions. The books have simply disappeared from the Kindles, and customer accounts have been credited with the purchase price.

Some who called Amazon. Com customer service were told that there was simply "a problem". http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/18/technology/companies/18amazon.html?_r=1Will people be less likely to buy a Kindle because of this sort of thing?

I think people will be less likely to buy Kindles, esp. Since there have been technical problems.

1 The fact that they remotely remove content from somebody's kindle is disturbing. Sounds like something that would have happened in the book '1984'. This user has been banned from Askville.

4 It is disturbing. I read one blog about it that said it's like if Barnes and Noble snuck into your house in the middle of the night, and took back a book off your bedside table. The purchase and usage agreement says that you own what you buy...so if the consumer doesn't voluntarily return it, does that make the actions of Amazon theft?Brrrring.Brrring."

Police? I'd like to report a breaking and entering. No, not my house. My kindle.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
