I guess this is because Amazon needs other statistical information about their consumers. That could be done, what you proposed, but it wouldn't serve the purpose of Amazon in collecting information about their customers' demographics and other things that they need to know in order to make more sales and be able to serve their customers better. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
