Please see my answer here which gives some good links on how to implement the "dashboard" pattern, and use the "quickaction" bar. I think this should put you on the right path. Also there is a link on how to implement the "action bar EDIT: According to Mighter, if you use API 1.6 - 2.3 there should be official Google samples for this now.
Please see this.

Thanks for the help! – edmund Oct 28 at 15:32 Reason for the downvote? Was this just a drive by downvoting?
– Jack Oct 28 at 19:27 I think that it's better to use official source code in your app rather then pull bugs with third-party library. – Mighter Nov 1 at 17:11 I agree completely, and the reason I linked that answer is because it applies to APIs prior to the ones that offered this built in. So to the OP: if your API is 3.0+, then you should use the built in methods for this.
– Jack Nov 1 at 21:10 There are official samples. So to the OP, if you use API 1.6-2.3 look into new google samples. – Mighter Nov 2 at 13:38.
That's ActionBar. Native support for 3.0+ devices, and some work to do in pre 3.0-devices. You can find example in new api 14 samples(called "ActionBarCompat").
I'm currently programming an android app. There I am stuck with xml-layout. Is it possible to assign a value to an xml-tag using a variable (constant) defined in a class?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
