They already possess the unconditional love most of us lack so their lives are shorter than ours...they are furry teachers! .

That's always the big argument between dog and cat owners. Dogs need and give companionship and care (like having a 3-year old), return your love unconditionally. Cats are very independent, some are friendly, some are not.

They can be left alone for long periods of time; that's why a lot of people who live in apartments and go to work all day have them as pets.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
