There are a few reasons. These include dub accuracy, localization, character voices, and delivery (emotion, tone, etc.). I believe localization and voice actors are the two largest reasons.
These opinions range between animes and opinions. Whenever they import anime, they tend to mess with things, such as music, language, setting, art, tone, and an annoying one in my opinion, character ages/personalities. For some anime (like DBZ), the differences may not be that big of a deal.
For other anime (like Sonic X), it feels like your watching a completely different series. Another thing is voice actor choice, though this is mostly opinion. There could be a guy/girl with a perfect japanese voice who is then swapped out with a voice actor that makes you feel like your watching a Saturday morning cartoon.
At other times, the voice actor feels so out of place that it makes the show hard to watch.
Some of the reasons people don't like English dub is because 1. The voices can be annoying. 2.
Sometimes the voices don't match the mouth movement. 3. The dubs may not always be as accurate as watching it in Japanese.
I like English dubs because I find it easier to watch than looking at the bottom of the screen for subtitles all the time. I don't mind watching sub though, I have watched one anime series and two movies in Japanese with English subtitles. It is all about what people find easier.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
