The 502 Gateway error is usually caused when there is a communication error in an advanced hosted setup. The error is caused when there is a communication error between "frontend" and "backend" hardware. Most likely, Mahalo is caching the pages that we (users) see.
Pages are generated by "backend" servers to decrease load and bandwidth requirements. This is the basic functionality of caching. So, at some point between the backend servers and the frontend servers, there was an error.
The frontend servers couldn't get the data from the backend servers to display. The solution to a problem like this may be a fault tolerant / round robin setup where if a server or IP is down, the next available one is used. This can be efficiently setup in routing or as part of a DNS strategy.
Data replication, hardware costs, and added complxity are the negative aspects of this solution.
It's a database error, we see it time from time when when the devs are updating the database, 99% of the time you can hit refresh/reload and the site will load no problem, it's been working for me tonight.
I saw a few of these yesterday. I assume this happens when the site is being updated.
It's my fault. I just joined the site. Sorry :).
Nginx is the Free and Open Source Software That Mahalo Answers Uses To Run Their Database, that error most probably means that there is a problem with your name and details entry on the answers database, contact tech support.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
