Anybody out there have a "Spinal Fusion"? What type did they do? Tell me in details how the surgery went and what?

I had Scoliosis when I was 13... My mom noticed my spine curved a lot one day while she was measuring me for a dress so I went to Orthopaedic Hospital in Los Angeles and had at least 7 veterbraes fused and wore a plaster body case for 9 months. This was back in 1970 when the casts were uncomfortable and not easily removable like the braces are now. Had I not had the surgery, one shoulder would have been much higher than the other.

Since the operation I've not had any pain or problems with my spine. I was told not to ever do sommersaults or jump on a trampoline ever again. I only notice a small difference in the way my shoulders align now but it's only evident when I'm naked.

I know a woman in my dancing circle who stooped over most of her life and a few years ago, had the same operation and she is so much happier now, being able to stand tall and not be in as much pain. I never regretted having this surgery. Yes, it was painful, as most invasive surgeries are, but well worth the pain.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
