No. Though they do spend a lot of time in the water, they are reptiles. Amphibians lay their eggs in the water, and reptiles lay their eggs on land.
Female alligators usually remain in a small area. Occupy areas larger than two square miles. Hatched and where they are protected by their mother.
Or are driven out by larger alligators. Undergo periods of dormancy when the weather is cold. It during dormancy.
