Yes, I believe they are. But not all of them. I have to say that I truly believe that Ford is doing a great job with their cars and trucks.
We own a Fusion and love it. We bought it about 6 months ago. Not a single issue or problem with it.
I believe they have stepped up the quality of the cars. The interior is comfy and very nicely set up. The gas milage is awesome also.
Now,Dodge, Chrysler whatever you call them,They are aweful. We own a caravan and have had a boat load of problems with that POS. NEVER will buy one of them again. As for Toyota,I would be a bit leary about buying one.
But thats just me.
The American automobile manufacturers have long been good at creating media blitzes and ads. It's delivering a good car that they stopped concerning themselves about long ago. The first of the new cars won't be out until the 2011 year.
The best known is the Volt. It's a big step forward for an American car; but, it seems like a loser compared to the Prius or Insight. And by the time it comes out they'll have plug in versions themselves. So far, I'm skeptical.
The car companies had shake ups but if there was really a cultural revolution in the car companies' corporate culture it didn't make the papers.
Not sure about GM or Chrysler, but Ford is definitely holding its own. Remember, it was the only company that took no bailout money, largely because of its huge European market. I remember reading once that most of the "milliionaires next door", the ones you didn't know were millionaires, drove used Fords.
I think that says a lot. Ford was the first, and I believe they will come out of this downturn on top of all the other companies. Honestly, I could do without GM and Chrysler.
I have never had one of their cars that was worth the money I paid for it. I sincerely don't think they can come back at all.
Some of them might be, but I have to agree with the others about Ford. My bother in law use to swear by Ford and still does. I bought a brand new 2000 Pontiac Gand Am it had 3 miles on it whe I drove it off the lot.
Needless to say the thing was the worst investment ever! And I mean ever. We paid $28,000.00 for the car and we have had to pratically rebuild the whole damned thing.
Not to mention the 6 sets of brakes than we have had to replace. The American car industry may be picking up, but I will gaurentee that I will never, ever buy a brand new car again! Besides who can trust them!
Bankrupcy, failing brake system and Iam sure much more. Loved the look and the performance when I first bought mine! flickr.com/photos/28718823@N05/2681354570.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
