No, birds are not mammals. In layman terms, to reproduce, birds lay eggs outside their body while most mammals nurture their embryo in Mama's tummy! Birds are categorised as a biological class, Aves.
Birds are bipedal, warm-blooded, oviparous vertebrate animals characterized primarily by feathers, forelimbs modified as wings, and (in most) hollow bones. Check the source if you want more precise / detailed information. Sources: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird .
Birds are not mammals because they do not produce milk or have "fur" The basic definition of a Mammal according to Wikipedia is: "...characterized by the presence of mammary glands, which in females produce milk for the nourishment of young; the presence of hair or fur; and endothermic or "warm-blooded" bodies. " While birds have feathers, this wouldn’t count exactly as hair. Birds do not have mammary glands, but rather, most feed their young by catching food, and in many cases consuming and regurgitating food for their young.
Birds are, however, endothermic (warm blooded). Birds have unique characteristics of their own. According to Wikipedia, "Birds are bipedal, warm-blooded... animals characterized primarily by feathers, forelimbs modified as wings, and (in most) hollow bones."

No birds are not mammals Animals are considered mammals if they are warm-blooded, are covered by fur or hair, breathe using lungs, give birth to live young, and feed milk to their young. (The word 'mammal' comes from the mammary glands, which produce milk. ) Birds have beaks, rather than teeth.
They also have feathers and a strong skeleton, and they lay eggs which have a hard shell. Like mammals, birds are warm-blooded.
