I have participated in a couple of efforts in collaborative (blind) writing in both short story form and in poetry. For me, it is a novelty type thing that is fun and challenging to do. I am not sure that I would want to do it all the time but it is a fun change especially when you can pair up with some talented people.
There is a learning process there that is good and the readers seem to get into it as well. I think if you did it a lot, you might lose some of yourself as a writer. Writing is a total process requiring a beginning, middle, and end and if one is only working on one element too much they may lose some of their skillset at total story development.
If you chose to do it on a regular basis, it might be fun to switch around and work with a lot of different writers in various genres. This would keep things fresh to both the writers and the regular readers. This would be quite challenging as I have found that each writer has a particular style.
Some of those styles do not seam out against another writer in the transition as the piece might require. The reader ends sensing a total mood shift and some of the magic of the piece may fall away. All in all, it is fun but I am not sure it offers any more rewards than simply plying your own good skills.WB.
Absolutely..very much fun! Thanks for doing this. :).
Yes they are it would be a great idea to get people interacting with each other.
I enjoyed it-a light fun way to tell a story. Reminds me of summer campfire story telling. But you had to pull it all together Genna which was challenging.
You did a great job..
I think it could be very good as long as it did not get too far off track. It would be especially good to encourage mentoring for newbies and you could also do a very creative project that everyone learns from and has fun with. It is always hard to join a site and feel like the new kid.
All it takes sometimes is one person to welcome you and give you some pointers. For me, creative, out of the box, collaborative projects are a lot of fun and you can learn so much.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
