Dawes bikes were once the mutts nuts but they've since been overtaken by competitors. Dawes frames tend to be heavy and components rather low spec. Unless you want to spend upwards of £1500 on a 'top spec' manufacturer like Scott, Specialized etc I would suggest going to your local Halfords.
Although most biking afficionados would sneer at this for the same £350 price bracket as the Dawes XC 1.6 you can get a Carrera Kraken with much better kit and from a supplier who will give you a free service and decent back up. If I was spending that sort of money for a new bike the Kraken is the one I'd go for. More.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
