Hate Crime" is a label assigned by society...it is basically an "assumption" on the part of society which acts as the basis for reasoning on the crime. A black man might kill a white man and yet offer no explanation of his act but society or the media might immediately label it a "hate crime"...maybe not so in this case since the example cites a black killing a white but if the example were reversed, it becomes a given in the media. We have to be careful with labels because they represent foregone conclusions which may not really get at the truth.
If there is a factor of hate in the act of committing the crime, the certainly we can rationalize that it was indeed a "hate crime" but until the perpretrator makes that admission, it is simply an assumption. WB.
This is a good question that i've thought about many times. To me people want to be treated the same regardless or the sex, religion and race but it seems that when the oprotunity arrises they will use their differences to make an issue out of everything that happens to them. Being white is a tricky thing these days.
Other races can say what they want but if your white, be very careful. I don't hate anyone due to their race, religion or sexual preferences but I am hated for being white by many people. I wrote a hub about the behavior of blacks on twitter and I think I a few people have now deemed me as a racist.
I'm not a racist but I am sick of being the one race where I have to hold my tounge over obvious observations.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
