Are there any downsides to using GIMP?

GIMP is an Open Source Image Editing Software package. It runs on most Windows platforms and on Mac using OS-X with X11. After three years of use I can say that the X11 environment does not add any complexity or issues.

Since it is Open Source GIMP is FREE for the user and users may add functionality. . As with any software package there are strengths and weaknesses.

One of the downsides of GIMP is the help system. It does not come bundled with the software or update automatically. You need to install the help system separately.

The other issue with help is that is often in tech speak and hard for non-computer savvy people to grasp. Another downside is the Graphic User Interface itself. It is not nearly as well designed or user friendly as Adobe Photoshop.

Users that are used to slick interfaces like iPhoto or Photoshop Elements may have some difficulty with GIMP. Although most of the tools are very similar to Photoshop, they are different and will take an experienced Photoshop User a little time to get used to it.

Downside of using Squarespace is that since the program takes cares of all the things for you, you won't be able to actually learn how to program, but always depend on the program to do everything for you. If you want to become a web programmer, I really do not recommend you to use this program because it just does not help you to learn how to code your own to make a website. You might want to learn php and mysql to make a dynamic website and just html and css to make a simple site that does not have any function.

If you are not going to be a programmer, I do not think there is any downside of using Squarespace though besides the fact that it costs 12 dollars a month.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
