Are there any vector drawing programs for the Mac that open layered EPS files and cost less than $100?

Older versions are a good idea. I've done it for a few programs. (sometimes it cheaper to buy an old version and upgrade then the latest version) But as a possible answer, though a bear to work with depending on what you are doing, Turbo CAD will import/export EPS, and AI files.

Most if not all CAD programs are vector based. And CAD does layers. Oh if its just for a single project, you can D/L a trial of Illustrator.(that worked for a quick project I needed done).

You can get Illustrator 9.0 or 10.0 that will work with Mac 9.0 (9.2.2 recommended) for about $40. If you're running OSX you can still use those versions of Illustrator if you have a dual HD; just set up one drive for OS 9, or you can use an external HD.

What I'm looking for is an alternative Vector graphics editor that can open EPS (and possibly AI) files including layers for a reasonable price. I've tested a couple programs like Sketch and Intaglio that will open EPS files, but don't seem to handle opening in layers (though they seem to export layers just fine). Anyone know of options that don't cost an arm+leg?

P.S. I know there is Inkscape, but I don't want to rely on XWindows. Also, Sketch mentioned above is currently available as part of this software bundle, so if I'm missing a way to open layers in EPS files with it, please let me know! I'd love to own a copy of Adobe Illustrator, but I don't want to spend the cash.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
