There are always meetups which you might want to consider. I have thought about going to one of these. It would be a great way to meet more people who have things in common with me.
Go to your local library. They often have fliers up on the bulletin board advertising groups. Not sure if they'd have marketing help, that may be hit and miss, but writer groups are more common than you might think.

I have seldom known of authors generous enough to represent you to their publisher unless there is a WIFM to their charity and publishers seldom if ever mingle with writers for obvious reasons but I will have to check out the meet up page. Thanks Melbel.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
