Not many. Trolloing for gators is about as good as it gets and that's a pretty slow process. Try going to Panama City in Fl.

There are quite a number of things people can enjoy outdoors in Lake Charles, Louisiana. There are numerous golf courses and country clubs for those who like to tee up. Fun on the Run is a theme park for the entire family.

There are beaches that are great for sunbathing, fishing, bird-watching or whatever your pleasure. The Sam Houston Jones State Park is a great place for hiking, fishing or picnicking. If you have a dog or dogs that want to run free there is the Calcasieu Parish Animal Control Public Dog Park.

There does not appear to be swamp tours in Lake Charles itself but there certainly are a few within a pretty easy drive. Most have hours all year round as the weather is rather temperate down Louisiana way year round. I took a swamp tour once in November and it was quite interesting.It helps to have a guide with a good personality.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
