Are there legitimate contests to win iPads?

I checked out an article from ForeverGeek. Com about the ten best ways to win an iPad and although I have never entered a competition to try and win an iPad, I might now that I have read the article. The writer mentioned that a lot of iPads were pre-ordered by individuals and website companies for the sole purpose of being prizes for their competitions and a lot of these competitions give away free iPads every week or so.
