There are always risks when running third party software on a machine, especially when you are modifying the machine. This being said, I have just recently installed the homebrew channel on my wii, and I am very satisfied with my new dvd player :) As far as mods go, this is very low risk, and as long as you follow instructions, there should be very little risk in running homebrew apps on your wii. Here's the guide that I used, which worked perfectly.
Follow it and you will be fine.
Absolutely, Wiis can become bricked. See my source for some information on the different kinds of 'bricking' a Wii can experience, as well as advice on how to prevent it from happening.
I've added the Homebrew channel, it's very safe for this sort of thing. There is theoretically a possibility of it getting bricked, but what greg d says will not happen. Future updates will not brick the Wii just because you ran the Twilight Hack.
Nintendo would be stupid to kill about an eighth of the Wiis out there in an attempt to stop the homebrew community. All future updates may do is momentarily stop people from using the Twilight Hack for about a week until they find out how to reimplement it, but it won't destroy the system retroactively.
I think the Twilight Hack is pretty safe, but the risk is always present, especially if you run an update on your Wii System Menu. Also, hacking your Wii will completely destroy its warranty if it still has one.
Dude, don't hack your Wii if they put out an update you run a strong chance of getting bricked. Maybe not now but later. If it get's bricked you're screwed.
What kind of app do you want to add? Play games on your Wii.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
