Yes, there are twin resolute desks. There is one in buckingham palace and in the president's office and they are identical, just like it mentioned in National treasure Book of secrets as I guess this is where you got this question from! But I am afraid that there are no secret compartments like in National treasure!
Edit: Actually no there is only one resolute desk which is the one that is in the oval office of the President of the United States. There was however a 2nd writing table constructed from the timbers of HMS Resolute. While it was kept for many years in Buckingham Palace, it is not an identical twin to the desk which was presented to President Hayes on November 23, 1880.
The person above this is a classic example of someone watching a movie and getting facts and fiction mixed up. If you would like to read more about the truth of this subject you can read about it at any one of these sites: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resolute_desk www.whitehousemuseum.org/furnishings resolute desk htm.
The plaque with the same message was fitted onto each desk made, the Resolute Desk in the White House, it's twin Resolute Desk at Windsor Castle, Queen Victoria's writing table and the Grinnell desk. The desk has been modified twice. President Franklin D.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
