Are video games a waste of time and life (no offense, gamers!)?

I've pondered this question often, because I agree with you that there is so much to learn and experience in life than wasting even one hour playing a mindless video game, which has no purpose whatsoever; even though they claim it is fun or 'skillful'. There are plenty of other ways to have fun that exercises the body and mind, plus I don't believe the so-called 'skills' of playing a video game have any application to real life. I find it perplexing that no-one seems to grasp how these games undermine human interaction, eye contact and conversation - when a group is together playing an activity game none of them are looking at each other or interacting personally, they are all fixated at the screen like dead-eyed zombies and that's not natural.

I think the whole reason why people, including grown up adult men think that these games are more fun than doing other activities is (1) due to a lack of imagination, and (2) laziness. When I was a kid in the 70s we had none of these games and so we developed a very strong active imagination to invent our own games, and we interacted properly with each other - these are the real skills that need to be developed and sadly I feel our society is losing them very quickly.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
