According to this issue in version 1.3 it is done using HTTP PUT, while in 2.0 it takes the catalog form the proxied repositories I'd suggest you open a ticket for artifactory at issues.jfrog.org/jira/browse/RTFACT it's an open source project after all.

I'm on the latest version, 2.0.6. I'm afraid the issue only says that Artifactory mirrors the archetype-catalog. Xml from one of the repositories it is proxying.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
