I know that the war in Iraq and the war on terror are very important issues and very much on peoples minds, BUT please DO NOT include them. I only want to know what 4 DOMESTIC SOCIAL issues are most important to you when you consider who to vote for to be president. I do not want to know who you are going to vote for, just list your 4 most important domestic social issues.
Please no debate or long winded explanation - just a concise list. I'll go first to offer an example. In no particular order:1) Universal school vouchers - I'm for them2) Appointment of supreme court judges who DO NOT view the Constitution as a "living document".
- I am for them3) Support of 2nd Amendment - I am for it.4) Reduction in the size and scope of the federal government - I am for it. My 4 big domestic issues 1. ) Privacy -- I'm a big fan of it, and I don't like the idea that people are wiretapping my phone and Internet access without ever informing me, asking a judge, getting a warrant, or recording how often they do it or what they did it for. I want my protection from unreasonable search back.
2. ) Infrastructure -- We're about a trillion dollars behind on fixing up highways and bridges. New Orleans is still completely shot, we've got bridges and tunnels falling down on us, and things are generally going to heck in a handbasket.
It's not sexy spending, it's hard to see results immediate, and it can usually be put off for another year, but we need somebody who's willing to put money where it really needs to go to do some real, long-term good, even when it's not an easy sell. That's what leadership is. 3.
) Health care -- Our health care is kind of sad for a 1st world nation. I'm not 100% sure guaranteed universal coverage is the right thing to do, but I'm not so sure I like the idea of everybody getting their health care from their employers, either. I am sure that we need to start making SOME sort of changes, though, and I suppose I like the idea of offering a certain level of basic care to every citizen.
4. ) Freedom -- We've got way too many politicians out there who try to score cheap points by trying to change the constitution to ban flag burning or gay marriage or whatnot. I kind of like being free to marry a dude while burning a flag while setting off fireworks I bought legally.
I wouldn't do that, mind you. Kissing other dudes is kind of gross, I love my country far too much to burn a flag (except to respectfully retire it), and if I'm going to be handling fireworks, I'd prefer not to be ALSO waving a burning flappy object of any sort at the time with my other hand. But I like knowing that I COULD do those things.
My 4 domestic issues Okay I'll be concise: 1. Health care for everyone. This is as important as the air that we all breathe.
2. Energy independence. Think of this as a national security issue.
3. Education. How embarassing when people from another country speak our language better than some of us that were born here.
4. Upgrading our infrastructure. Sure, there are those who will say(abt taxes) that it is our money, but it is also our country.
Okay, a concise list (aw shucks, but that's what you asked for! ) 1. Ban lobbyists; make lobbying and all non-personal political campaign contributions illegal.
2. Appoint supreme court judges who DO view the Constitution as a living document, and are able to place respect for the rule of law above their personal beliefs. 3.
Get serious about reforming Social Security so that there's a better-than-marginal chance it will be around a decade from now--even if it means (as it must) raising the eligibility age, eliminating benefits for wealthy citizens and making other painful but necessary changes. 4. Introduce a winning strategy for the War on Drugs: Get rid of mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent crimes.
Deal with drug use as a health/treatment issue rather than a penal issue. Make a distinction between personal stupidity (drug use and abuse) and societal damage (drug trafficking). There's my top 4, in no particular order.
Now, let's go find somebody who can captain my team! .
My four In no particular order: 1. GLBT rights (gay marriage/civil unions) 2. Stem cell research 3.
Education 4. Abortion rights For a very nice, concise chart of the top issues facing this election and where the candidates stand on them, you might like: flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=868063604&s... .
Here goes..... not in precise order: 1) education changes in NCLB 2) tax reform 3) health care reform 4) have a real war on drugs txteacher's Recommendations American In Motion Banner .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
