At 20 many young adults still live with their parents. There is a huge difference, however, between a 20 year old who goes to college or works a job or both and a 20 year old who stays up all night playing video games then sleeps til 2 pm. As a 20 year old living at home, you should be sharing the home with your parents as a responsible adult member of the household.
Take this opportunity to practice the responsibilities that comes with being an independent adult. As an independent adult living on your own, you would normally be responsible for paying rent, utilities, buying and preparing food, keeping your living space clean and doing laundry. Are you doing some of these things now?
Or is your mom still feeling the need to nag you to take out the trash and pick your socks up off the floor? The more responsibilities you take on now as a young adult, the more you show your parents that you are ready for the independence and privileges of a young adult. Finally, you stated that you need to be with someone who doesn't criticize you, look down on you, or nag you.
The best person for you to be with who isn't going to do any of these things is yourself. When you do move out of your parents' home and into your own place, don't be in too big of a hurry to move in with a girlfriend or someone else. Take some time to experience the freedom of living on your own with only yourself to answer to.

I am still young, yet by looking at the US as a whole, its very understandable to live with others, especially parents. Its hard to get a good job now a days, so you will probably start out pretty low job wise. Nevertheless, if you work hard and do what you think is right, you can get where you want to go.
Maybe share rent with a friend at a apartments. If you do move out, I suppose it will be hard to adapt, but nevertheless, it could be a good choice if you really despise living with your parents. It is not pathetic to live with parents, and if you don't get a long with them, you have to deal with it.
Sorry, but they are kind of stuck with you, as they are blood related. Anyways, to answer your question, I do not think at all it is pathetic to be so young (your only 20) and to live with your parents. You have to hit some bumps in the road to get wherever your going.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
