Best Short Subject Documentary 2011 Oscar nominations and/or winners?

There were five short subject documentaries put on nomination this year. The nominees for the Best Short Subject Documentary for the 2011 Oscar nominations are ; * The “Poster Girl By Mitchell W.

Block and Sara Nesson * The “Sun Come Up By Tim Metzger and Jennifer Redfearn *“The Warriors of Qiugang By Thomas Lennon and Ruby Yang *The “Killing in the Name

By Jed Rothstein *The “Strangers No More By Kirk Simon and Karen Goodman I think the main difference between a short subject and a normal documentary is that the short subject documentary is usually shown as a short presentation before a long feature film is seen, while a normal documentary is longer and more elaborate. I can't help with the difference, but this video from Mahalo has all the winners from the 2011 Oscars.

As James Franco and Anne Hathaway prepare for their big night on Sunday, it’s worth noting that the Oscars are not only about fashion statements and forgettable skits, but that there are also films and filmmakers in the mix. For some of these, the night—or even the run-up to the night—can be transformative. Case in point: the Oscar-Nominated Shorts, typically grouped together as such.

In decades past, these awards were by definition off-radar for viewers of the Oscars telecast, as the films remained unseen and the makers mostly unknown. Now, with the help of Shorts International, Magnolia Pictures, the animated and live-action shorts, which went to select theaters in mid February, are now available on iTunes and VOD. As in previous years, 2011’s nominees for Best Documentary (Short Subject) are harder to see (all trailers are available on YouTube).

And as always, they are plainly and movingly labors of love. Consider The Warriors of Qiugang, filmed over three years by Ruby Young and Thomas Lennon.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
