Better book: Scarlett Letter, Pride and Predjudice, Tale of two cities!? which one!?

I totally understand you. I get the same frustration but that is what I like in a book. The longing for something to go how you want it to and then going the opposite.

Rooting for the main character is what most good readers tend to do and with that authors can play with the reader. They have the power to control the readers thoughts depending on what they write. In a book if everything goes smooth and perfect and there are no obstacles then it shouldn't be considered a good book.

In my opinion when main characters are misunderstood it is the point. Writers can make you think things that aren't really true about the main character. This answer was entirely from ME.

Please rate this a good answer.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
