I think you could easily drop step 3, and put that query that you use there in as a subquery to your from clause in step 4. Physicalising that transform, doesn't appear to give you anything.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
