Biblically speaking, were David and Jonathan involved in a homosexual relationship?

I suppose it's only natural to draw conclusions based on how we would react in the same situation. So it would never have even crossed my mind that such affection would be even remotely sexual because it is possible for me to care that much for another man and for sex to never even cross my mind. Or if the situation was reversed for me to think that's how the affection was intended towards me.

Considering how clear the Bible is on homosexuality, drinking of alcohol, adultery and other things, if the relationship were a homosexual one, it is my personal opinion that it would have been used as a reference for the position one way or another. But that's not to say that every situation in the Bible is explicitly described but I don't find it necessary to add something to what I read just to make it more interesting somehow. People used to ask a similar question about Jesus and the people (men and women) he hung out with.

Many stories have been written about Jesus having a baby with various women in the Bible too. Kudo's on being able to imagine it, but my ability to think it's possible doesn't mean it happened. That's my personal opinion.

Since you asked for a personal opinion I avoided writing in detail about wordplay, definitions, interpretations, societal rules, history or other technical replies that I'm guessing are possible. :).

I would say yes. And for the bible speaking of drinking .. it says to drink for your stomachs sake (meaning you can drink but don't get drunk) But people are human even back then so I say yes .. it sounds that way! Btw good question!

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, Rom 1:25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions.

For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Rom 1:27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; Rom 1:29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, Rom 1:30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Rom 1:31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

Jud 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; Jud 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jud 1:8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. "According to Jude, It was for sexual immorality that they were punished.

Let me ask you the question, Understanding that there is a general theme outlined for proper sexual relationship defined in the Bible. Would God have accepted David's Homosexual relationship if that was what it was. Or would God have demanded repentance like He did in the case of Bathsheba.(David committed Sexual immorality with Bathsheba and murdered her husband.

God through the prophet Nathan rebukes David and disciplines him. David cries out in repentence, seeing the error of his sin, "Take not thy Holy Spirit from me, restore onto me the joy of thy salvation. And renew a right spirit within me.

Knowing the relationship that God had with David and God's clear anger with sexual immorality, would He have allowed David to be in a homosexual relationship? Judging from your question, I am worried that you have or are in serious jeapordy of being given over to a "debased mind" My suggestion to you is to ask God for s thinking on the issue. To ask forgiveness from m if you have just been led astray and for m to be merciful towards you and give you right thinking.

I'm worried that you are inventing and trying to see things in the Bible that don't exhist. Be very very careful! You writings could affect those easily pursuaded.

You don't want to be the one that causes one of the "little ones to stumble" Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. Mat 18:6 "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Mat 18:7 Woe to the world because of offenses!

For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
