Do you need boat insurance for small boat that gets out only 2-3 times a year on a deserted lake and the rest of time it's locked-up in your home garage and the risk of insurable event is about zero?

If you don't carry insurance you are open to a lawsuit that could possibly take away your lake house and every house you own. You leave yourself open to that. You may be able to notify the insurance company when you plan to use it and save some money.

Keep in mind, anything can happen in this world. A hiker may be swimming, a parachuter may be off course, a plane may crash and your trying to save people in your boat, and someone gets hurt getting in, or run over, or any number or terrible things that could happen. For the Little amount of money it cost to insure a seasonal boat it is well worth it.
