1 I don't think having a CPA or experience doing books exempts you from the law. If someone is committing a crime and you are there watching it happen, and you have knowledge of it, yes, I would think that you would be an accessory. I do not know about your state, but in Canada, there is no statute of limitations on fraud.In other words, if they find out twenty years that you committed a fraud or were an accessory to fraud, they can still charge you.

Anyway, doesn't matter if you have a title or not. You are still legally responsible.
Many years ago I worked for an employer who owed the IRS $90k in unpaid payroll taxes. The debt was incurred for several reasons starting with a bookkeeper who did not know the proper procedures for dealing with payroll.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
