Thanks for sharing that with us, balinese! I enjoyed the song - much more of a basic rock song than I was expecting. Catchy, too.(Though it did get a bit too repetitive.
And, redundant. ) As for releasing 44 songs over 2-3 yr period, I think it is fun to keep people's interest with some new material. But really.
I think that is just stretching out the concept of an "album" even thinner than it has already been stretched! Can you even call it an album?(In fact, did they have the guts to call it that somewhere? ) Surely, it would be better (more effective, publicity-wise, money-wise, etc) to release an "album" of approx 12 songs, dribble out a few extras, release another standard length album later in the year or the following year, etc. I don't know, I think enough people still get the adrenaline rush of a new album being released that this kind of thing won't fly as high.
Way over due! Billy is great songwriter and now that I think about Smashing Pumpkins would be considered Emo today before there was a term.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
