I'd get the terrier. Otherwise there is the danger that you will expect the new dog to be the second coming of your old one and come up short. You will be disappointed and the dog will know.

With a new breed there will be no expectations. Get neither until this dog passes.

That decision is entirely up to you. I wouldn't get another dog until this one passes, the stress will be too much her.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
