American indians did not think gay people were special in any way. The whole "two spirits" phrase and concept was started by the gay community within the last decade. Did we have gay natives?
Yes. And they were treated exactly like every other contributing member of the community. Nothing special and nothing wrong.
Just different. Please stop perpetuating this myth about our cultures. We have enough problems correcting all the misinformation about us that floats around the dominant culture.
For some reason, many people think that acting "normal" means acting "straight." However, that never is how I think about it. I think it's because I'm gay and not effeminate.
Every time I think of a gay guy, he's like me: normal/average. Therefore, all guys I think of, gay or straight, are, by default, not effeminate. So, "acting straight" just seems like the wrong way to think about it to me.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
