Button in gridview triggers all validators when it should not?

I ended up resolving this problem by preloading the gridview with an empty row. Makes no sense as to why this resolved the problem, but it does.

I would check on the following -- OnClick="showingEntry -- On that function, in the codebehind, any chance, any Page. Validate kind of code is getting executed?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
