There is NOTHING honorable about the electronic illusion of killing others in a wartime environment as a recreational activity. There's nothing honorable about a series whose most (in)famous point to date is the mass killing of civilians in an airport. There's nothing honorable about a piece of entertainment that teaches people that honor and rank is translated solely by your kill count.
Since this Call of Duty franchise is as honorless as any other piece of media produced by Hollywood in the 21st century, it makes absolutly no difference who they would get to endorese it. Neither the Call of Duty series, nor Activision, nor anyone associated with First Person Shooters or Video Games in general represents the men and women of the Department of Defense in the United States of America, and to believe otherwhise is pure naivety. Lt.
Col. Oliver North has been held for his crimes in lawful court. No further judgement upon him need be made. I for one have a much larger problem with kids who grow up playing games like Call of Duty and want to join the military because of it NOT because of an increased sense of patriotism or a desire to serve the common good for ones country, but for "the rush of being in a firefight".
These young boys and girls are being completly mislead into what the US military is, does, and represents, and that brings more shame than a hired spokesman ever could.
I would hardly call a game that centers itself on mass slaughter of civilians, a poor representation of military realism, and killing American soldiers an "honorable series." I'm a lot more put off by what lengths you're willing to go to protect the "honor" of your beloved game. And so my opinion of America's youth has now reached a new low...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
