Can a narcissist love his spouse or only be obsessed?

I lIved with a person who was a narcissist for five years - and no it is not possible :( Never love a person who can't love you back.

He can convince himself (and his spouse) that he loves her, for as long as it suits him to think that way.

In my opinion, a narcissist can surely love a person. It is only when something or someone happens to enter in that perfect life does something actually run inside the narcissist's mind. At that moment, the narcissism inside the person tends to overcome the love he/she has with the person.

But at the end, it's up to the person to decide which way to be stronger. Partner's role and behavior also matters a lot.

Perhaps that person can "love", but they can't love another beyond themselves.

I think it is definetly possible for a narcissist to love someone.

Sadly, a narcissist cannot love anyone but one person, THEM SELF!

If you can love thy lover as you love yourself. You are not a narcissist.

I believe that surely a narcissist could love his spouse. This disorder doesn't have to limit everyone from being able to love.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
