Can a previous owner take back a dog that you adopted from the pound?

Usually there is a statute that original ownership is given up after 90 days. Honestly you don't have to give the dog up. If they keep harassing you then involve the police.

If they sue, let them because they have the burden of proof and they won't have a leg to stand on.
