1. The running rate for OCS approval is right about 10%. So - about 10% of the applicants get accepted.
If by "regular" you mean "enlisting", then that's MUCH easier than getting into OCS. 2. Yes, you can choose where you are stationed.
GETTING IT is a bit more difficult. We do pretty good at getting people where they want to be. The huge majority of folks get stationed somewhere in their top three choices.
3. "Action"? If you are talking about Infantry-style gun-battles, then you are out of luck.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
