The way that a lot of people look at religion is that it is a personal belife system, providing the ethical and moral guidelines on how to live a successful and ethical life. For people like that, religion is profoundly internal, and does not need to be 'spread' or 'sold' or otherwise shared. Another school of thought (Baptist, Jehovas Witnesses, etc. ) is that religion is to be spread and marketed and sold to others.
In this model, belief and personal fulfillment are less important than the sso-called 'spread' of religion -- it is through the increase in numbers that the religion tries to find legtimacy. The problem with the "shared" religions is that they act like multi-level market organizations. They need lots of people joining in order to keep alive.
Compare them to Amway - they need lots of low end customers in order to keep paying the high salary people at the top tier. Same thing. As a result these shared religions have to take simple populist stands (as opposed to nuanced and well thought out moral and ethical positions) in order to attract the low end customers (oops, members).
I am all for personal religion; I have no love for any belief system that has to be "sold" to be successful..
The only defensible faith is private. The phrase..."sharing one's faith" is a euphemism for demanding other people agree with your misconceptions and do so without question. We all like it when folks agree with us but attempting to persuade folks to take our position is egocentric and not laudable.
Most people, even the fundamentalist, knows on some level, probably unconscious, that his adopted belief system does not hold up under scrutiny. For this reason such a person becomes threatened and even hostile when their pronouncements are challenged. While at university I studied psychology and took the opportunity to attend multiple churches. My interest was in human decision making, rationalization, sublimation and denial.
I made sure to attend the largest Baptist church in Ft Worth, TX, claimed membership of 5,000, when the “Revised Addition of the KJV was to be discussed. One self-appointed speaker for the christian god got so upset at the blasphemy that while waving his arms about he knocked the podium off the stage where it crashed into some large pots with beautiful Lilies proudly displayed. I could see the spittle flying from his lips as he expressed his outrage.
It seems that he thought the 17th century English of the KJV was somehow special to god and therefore could not be replaced with modern English. This visiting, “expert on god”, was not only famous he was profoundly ignorant. S actual knowledge re the KJV was mostly nonexistent.
Most of us need verification and to try to get it by the forcing of one’s opinion upon the innocent may be referred to by the euphemism…” Proselytizing” but in reality, it is merely verbal abuse and as such is, inexcusable. Entertain whatever belief system pleases you but do the rest of us the minimal courtesy of keeping it to yourself. Sources: rednecksputter, Phill-oss-a-fur, read some, been places .
If You were about To die and I saved YOUR LIFE and died in YOUR PLACE So YOU Could have MY life... First of all In reference to sharing one's faith, in James 2:19 satan believes, has faith, So faith alone is worthless UNLESS It leads to action. Second. Heb.13:8 says Jesus Christ has been for ever from The past to forever in the future, in Luke 5:20-24 Jesus Forgave Sins, an act ONLY GOD DOES, in Matt.1:23 Jesus is Immanuel, GOD WITH US, John first chapter tells us it was Jesus who was the member of The Godhead that created us, in John 8:58 Jesus is The I AM of Exodus 3, Moses and the burning bush, Ok in Isaiah 53 Jesus gave up s Divine Body for one like ours, in John 20 we are told that Jesus kept that same Human body after WITH The marks, my marks and yours that He got on The Cross, my cross and yours.
He will keep that same body FOREVER NEVER To take up s divine body ever again. It says in 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. The One that destroyed sin and satan will keep it from EVER coming back.
How after knowing all of that can anyone not want to tell someone about that? We live in A Open grave and Jesus is our ONLY WAY OUT. Jesus warns about something you need to hear, In Scripture The Lord our God warns with these URL1 Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
The person who is to ashamed of sharing what Christ has done for them is on VERY dangerous ground. You can learn more with free bible lessons amazingfacts.org God bless. Sources: The Holy Bible .
1 Not all religions proselytize. The Jews don't. So, yes, it is perfectly possible to be a faithful adherent without wanting to share the faith.

2 Faith is a personal thing. If you are truly faithful, there is no reason to proclaim your faith to anyone else. So yes, an unshared faith is worthwhile. My personal opinion is that people who "witness" to others have doubt about their own faith.
Therefore they go around bleating it to everyone in the hopes of getting vindication. True believers don't feel the need to push their beliefs onto others. They just believe.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
