Can anyone tell me where I can find an antique formal dining room table and chairs?

I am remodeling my home and I am into antiques but I do not know where to find them. I am looking for something that is really formal, and pretty, with carvings. Most dining room tables that I have looked at looks plain.

Love Antiques Believe it or not I find most of my antiqes at craigslist.com" rel="nofollow">craigslist.com These people have no idea what they are selling let alone giving away for free. I have seen some really gorgeous dining rms for dirt cheap. I even browse through when I'm bored and always find something I could use.

You can go look on EBay or... Almost every town or city has antique shops or antique malls. I would take a few shopping trips and see what you can find. Talk to the owners of each shop and tell them what you are looking for.

Believe me, they will eventually find it for you. You can also try Ebay, but will face some steep shipping charges unless you find someone local. Also check the newspaper classifeds and craigslist.com in your area - people often redecorate and sell Grandma's dining room set pretty cheap.

Search for French baroque style (1600-1750) & if that is not ornate enough, the French next went to the rococo style which outdid the baroque style in curves & goop. Recently bought 48x85 black asian, very ornate mirror. Now gold & redone by my husband.

Asian & French furniture complement each other very well. Good luck finding something you love! .
