This is the perfect teacher for ESL. In many ways having a teacher who doesn't speak your language is like visiting the country and learning the language there. To make yourself understood and for the teacher to make themselves understood requires far more effort and a constant influx of new words and expressions as you begin to understand one another.
If the teacher doesn't know your language you can use pictures in books and gestures to help them understand but really its *you* who need to understand *them*, not the other way around :) A good teach will pick up a few words or phrases to make things easier but its not necessary. A good teacher will use a multitude of sources for inspiration and help ( books, movies, cartoons, visits to the shops and stores, email conversations, letters, talking ) and if all of those things are used *and* you have to use English all the time you'll learn your new language quickly and enjoyably. ( I am an ESL tutor and have years of experience with different cultures and languages but only know English. My students pass their exams :).
Yes. ESL can be effectively taught if the teacher only speaks English. I was an ESL student.
I am actually sad to say that I know English better than many Caucasian Americans. I graduated ESL in 3rd grade, and I stayed fluent in Hmong as well. I think it is really in the student to have the motivation to learn. My sister, who was born in America also took ESL, though I'm still not sure why as she was by then fully emersed in 'American' ways.
She didn't pass out of it until 5 grade. To this day, she doesn't have a firm control of English grammar or Hmong for that matter.

It is up to students who are learning ESL. If they are interested they can grasp things easily. But anyways you can hire a private tutor who knows your first language also.
For example, if you know Spanish and wanna learn English then get help from private tutors who know Spanish and English. You can hire a private tutor via tutorz site.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
