Can Facebook be used for purposes other than social networking?

Businesses are using facebook for the chance to distribute coupons, show photos and blog about new items, offer contests and take input from customers. School groups are using facebook for organizing reunions and events. Organizers of events and fundraisers are using it for publicizing the info about their upcoming ways to participate.

Facebook can be used for as little interaction as you want or you can use it to find almost anything you need info wise.

Interesting question dtvrivera. I can think of several alternative uses of Facebook (ie. Not for social networking) 1.

Business opportunities (though in a sense, that's also social networking). People can talk about what they're working on, products they're selling, etc. 2. Passing the time (through games).

I've had to hide an enormous amount of content from friends that play farmville, mafia wars, or whatever the latest game is. 3. Photo / Video storage This one might actually be useful.

If you don't want to be social at all, you can use it as a place to store and organize your photos privately (although if you tag someone, it'll show up in someone else's profile and thus, alert them to your albums). There is a way to just tag someone without having it link to their profiles though. 4. Marketplace You can use it to buy or sell items just like on craigslist.

Of course, without the social networking component, it'll be a lot like craigslist but because of the social networking component, you have a little more trust in the buyers and sellers through friends (ie. If a friend of a friend wanted to buy your used car).4. Private Journal Using the notes function in your profile, you can set it to be private and just use it to log all your thoughts or activities each day.

I'm sure there are more but hopefully I got the ball rolling on alternative uses of facebook.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
