Can I buy stock listed on the Austrailian Stock Market through online brokers like Ameritrade?

I would like to purchase a stock that is listed on the Austrailian Stock Market. I would like to know if I can just buy what I want through an online broker like Ameritrade or E-trade. Actually, both of those firms have online chat help. You should ask them. I would think you could buy Aussi stocks online.

Maybe You can buy foreign stocks through some of the brokers, some offer some foreign stocks, some offer others... It really depends on the broker. Often they are grouped into comglomerations of stocks (funds) and it can be risky to buy foreign stock as many of these are in "emerging" markets, such as China. But with risk comes increased liklihood of gain (buying IBM might be very safe, but its also growing very very slowly for instance) But Australia is pretty well established as a modern society, so its safer to invest there.

I don't have an account with Ameritrade so I don't really know what they offer. I have purchased stock through Sharebuilder, and they only offer stock that is traded on the American exchanges. When you get into the foreign market usually you have to go with the bigger brokerage houses to really get what you want, but that doesn't mean you need a "full service" broker.

The big discount brokers should offer this, including Ameritrade. Why not email them and ask? They all have contact information on their websites and are happy to answer questions/get your business..

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
