Go to Start, right click "My Computer" and select "Manage". Down the left hand side, choose "Device Manager". Under the section "Mice and other pointing devices" should be your touchpad, referred to as its brand name, probably.
Right click it and select "Disable", then "Yes" at the confirmation.
I don't know for sure about your specific model, but usually there is a function key combination that disables the touch pad. For example, on my laptop pressing the fn key and then the f4 key turns off the touchpad. Hope that helps!
