Upgrading to N increases speed and RANGE a lot, just upgrade to dual band N router, you're probably going to have to in the future some time any way, if you're still having wifi issues in the future, then buy a range extender, but the new router will prob solve your issue depending on how big your house is. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
