Can I install mac os x onto a usb flash drive with my powerbook g4?

You need a CD to install Mac OS. Buy one-- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B... To start the computer from the CD, hold the C key for 45 seconds after you press the power button. Then open "Disk First Aid" to repair whatever is wrong with the hard drive's file system.

After using "Disk First Aid", quit and find a file on the CD called "Install Mac OS 9". Double-click that. A copied "System Folder" directory cannot be used for OS 9.

Older Mac OS would boot to a copied System Folder directory, but the desktop picture might get locked into the CD boot desktop, because that is how the CD's System Folder directory is designed. By the way, this roadblock has nothing to do with bootloaders. 0-0.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
